Investisseurs & Partenaires (I&P) is a family of investment funds founded in 2002 and managed by Jean-Michel Severino since 2011. I&P’s mission is to promote the development of African SMEs. It provides them with capital as well as strategic and technical support to meet their growth needs. These companies create local value and sustainable jobs, but also spur significant social, environmental, and governance impacts. I&P weaves a long-term partnership with entrepreneurs, which consists in sharing their expertise and experience in the management of SMEs and assisting them in structuring and formalization of their businesses. I&P manages two financial vehicles – IPDEV and IPAE – and implements diversified instruments (equity minority loan, etc) mainly with companies in Western and Central Africa and the Indian Ocean. It relies on a team based in Paris and five African countries (Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Madagascar). IPDEV is their most social vehicle based in Mauritius and dedicated to small African SMEs. To date, IPDEV has realized over 30 investments (avg size EUR 300k equity/quasi-equity). IPDEV’s vision is to contribute to development through supporting responsible entrepreneurship, thus creating employment, producing affordable goods on the local markets, developing services adapted to the poor, and promoting high level environmental, governance, and social standards in African SMEs.
