Mapping the Ecosystem
Creating a comprehensive overview of Ethiopia’s entrepreneurial landscape, identifying gaps and opportunities.

ANDE is set to design and publish a comprehensive Ethiopia Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Snapshot. This essential tool will feature a filterable web directory, engaging data visualizations, and a detailed PDF report. It will enumerate and describe the diverse types of ecosystem players—such as investors, accelerators, entrepreneur support organizations, academic institutions, and donors—providing a broad overview of the landscape.

The snapshot will detail the services available to entrepreneurs at various stages of development, across different sectors and demographics, including targeted insights for women and youth. It will also highlight the challenges and opportunities these organizations face within the ecosystem.

Expected to take nine months to complete, this assessment will encompass the entire country, with a focus on major cities like Addis Ababa, Bahir Dar, Hawassa, Jimma, and Mekelle, and extend to resources aimed at entrepreneurs in rural and less urbanized areas. This project promises to be an invaluable resource for understanding and navigating Ethiopia’s entrepreneurial environment.
