Mapping the Ethiopian Ecosystem
Creating a comprehensive overview of Ethiopia’s entrepreneurial landscape, identifying gaps and opportunities.

ANDE is excited to launch the Ethiopia Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Mapping, a comprehensive tool designed to provide deep insights into the country’s entrepreneurial landscape. This essential resource will include a filterable web directory and a detailed PDF report, offering a broad overview of the diverse ecosystem players, including investors, entrepreneur support organizations, academic institutions, donors, and more.

The mapping highlights the services available to entrepreneurs at various stages of development, across different sectors and demographics. It also addresses the challenges and opportunities these organizations face within the ecosystem. Spanning nine months of in-depth research, this mapping will serve as an invaluable resource for understanding and navigating Ethiopia’s entrepreneurial environment.

The snapshot highlights the services available to entrepreneurs at various stages of development, across different sectors and demographics, with targeted insights for women and youth. It also addresses the challenges and opportunities these organizations face within the ecosystem.

  • Sectoral Focus: The most commonly supported sectors are Agriculture & Food (57%), followed by Education (24%) and Information & Communication Technology (18%).
  • Comprehensive Coverage: While most support is not focused on a particular demographic, about 10% of programs are specifically for youth and/or students.
