The #MadeinWAF Francophone convening aims to promote the role of SGBs in local manufacturing and production, with an emphasis on boosting public and private sector investment in agro-processing.
Event Summary
Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs) have the potential to solve big problems. For example, the development of a robust manufacturing sector where SGBs in growth industries including Agriculture and Agro-processing that can propel development in the region and create much needed jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities for women and young people. However, significant barriers including access to capital, regulatory hurdles and limited infrastructure continues to impede growth. On top of this, the ecosystem is further complicated for SGBs as they try to navigate their way through a growing number of well-intended impact investors, Enterprise Support Organizations, Technical Assistance Providers, and Business Development Service Providers.
The event will build on discussions from the West Africa Regional Conference that highlights why #MadeinWAF provides an immediate solution to economic development and the creation of decent jobs where SGBs in growth industries can play a critical role.
