FAQs
Registration

How many people from my organization may attend? Up to five colleagues from your organization are welcome to attend.

I am not an ANDE member. Can I still attend? Absolutely! Non-members are welcome to attend, learn about ANDE, and join the conversation about the development ecosystem. We are also offering former member organizations the opportunity to attend this year’s Global Annual Conference at the member rate. If interested, please contact the ANDE Membership team.

If you are interested in becoming a member, please review our Overview and Membership Brochure. For further discussion, contact the ANDE Membership team.

I don’t plan to attend all days of the conference. Can I pay for only certain days? Registration covers both days (September 10 and 11) of the conference. We are unable to offer single-day registration.

I know someone who could speak at the conference, but they are not a member. Can they attend and speak? We prioritize member participation, and members help shape our agenda. However, if you have a suggested subject matter expert, please reach out to the ANDE Events team.

Who is coming to the conference? When our conference networking app launches this summer, you will be able to see a list of attendees. The app will also enable you to search by sector/geographic region and reach out directly to set up meetings and plan your personal conference agenda. If you are attending the ANDE Global Annual Conference for the first time, this is a great way to connect with like-minded members and get to know others in the sector in advance.

What does my registration cost cover? Your ticket covers attendance at all sessions, lunch and beverages each day, cocktail receptions on September 10 and 11, and a gala dinner on September 11. It does not cover your hotel stay or tickets to offsite excursions on September 12.

When does the conference begin and end? The conference officially begins at 8:00 am ICT on Tuesday, September 10 and ends after a gala dinner and closing ceremony around 9:00 pm ICT on Wednesday, September 11.

ANDE is also organizing optional offsite events for Thursday, September 12. These excursions will provide opportunities to connect with local entrepreneurs and learn more about the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bangkok and Thailand. If interested, please consider this when booking travel arrangements. More information and the registration link for these excursions can be found here

What does the agenda look like? The 2024 agenda will include:

  • Global and regional State of the Sector deep dives
  • Interactive discussions on the latest network news and research
  • Inspiring featured speakers
  • Dynamic opportunities for cross-sector collaboration and knowledge-sharing
  • Engaging member-led and curated sessions
  • Fun speed networking, and much more

The draft agenda can be viewed here. Please note, details are subject to change.

My organization wants to have a speaking role at the conference. How can we get involved? Session submissions for the agenda have closed. However, the ANDE Global Annual Conference is designed to be highly participatory and discussion-based for all attendees, regardless of having a formal role on the agenda.

Do I get a complimentary pass to the conference if I am a speaker? We cannot provide plenary and session speakers with a complimentary conference pass. However, if your session is accepted, you will have a two-week window to purchase your conference ticket at the early bird member rate of USD $830.00.

Is there an online component to the conference? No, the entire conference will take place in person and will not be live-streamed.

Sponsorship

I am interested in sponsoring the conference. Whom should I contact? Thank you for your interest! Sponsoring the Global Annual Conference is a great way to promote your brand and create awareness about your work, while also supporting ANDE’s emerging market members to attend the conference. Please review our sponsorship brochure and contact Flora Bracco to discuss opportunities.

Will there be scholarship opportunities for those who need financial support to attend?

Scholarship funds are available for ANDE members who need financial support to attend the 2024 Global Annual Conference. These scholarships ease the registration costs for eligible attendees, particularly those in senior strategic roles within their organizations. To ensure diverse and inclusive representation at the conference, we will prioritize those traveling from further regions and individuals based in the Global South.

Scholarship applications are now closed, and all applicants have been made notified of their status.

Travel and Lodging

Can I request to have a roommate during the conference to reduce my accommodation costs? Yes, if you are interested in being paired with a roommate, please contact us, and we can connect you with another ANDE member who is also looking for a roommate. If you have someone in mind, feel free to contact them directly.

How do I get to the venue from the Suvarnabhumi Airport?

Taxi: Taxis are readily available at the airport. Head to the first floor of the Passenger Terminal (level 1), between exit doors 4 and 7, where you can collect a queuing ticket for a public taxi from the automatic dispensing machines. There is a 50 Baht surcharge added to the meter charge from the airport, in addition to any expressway toll fees. The typical fare to the hotel is approximately 300 – 400 THB. Ensure the taxi meter is switched on (indicated by a red ‘35’) at the start of your journey. Also, make sure to wear the rear seat belts as required by law.

Rideshare: Grab, Bolt, and Lineman are popular rideshare options in Bangkok. These can be a cost-effective choice and are easily accessible through their respective apps.

Airport Limousine Service: For a more comfortable option, you can use the Suvarnabhumi International Airport limousine service. Counters for this service are located on the second floor at the Baggage Claim and Arrival Hall exit, channels A, B, and C.

Public Piers: If you prefer, you can use public piers, though this may involve additional steps and transfers.

I need a visa letter to attend the conference. How can I obtain one? If you need an invitation letter to secure a visa, please indicate this during event registration and provide your passport information.

All visitors to Thailand must have a valid visa. Certain nationalities can enter the country under the bilateral-agreement Visa Exemption program. This program is open to 64 nationalities from around the world. Additionally, 19 nationalities are eligible to apply for a visa upon arrival in Thailand. If you are not eligible for either of these options, you must apply for a visa in advance at your local Thai embassy. You may view visa requirements by country here.

Do I need any vaccinations before entering Thailand? Yellow Fever vaccines are required for travelers ≥9 months old arriving from countries with risk for Yellow Fever virus transmission; this includes >12-hour airport transits or layovers in countries with risk for Yellow Fever virus transmission. Please consult with your medical care providers and visit the World Health Organization for additional information.

What should I wear to the conference? The dress code for the conference is business casual. While business casual is encouraged, we also suggest bringing a sweater or jacket as meeting room temperatures may vary. Please consider the weather in Bangkok during mid-September, which is typically warm and humid, with temperatures averaging around 28-32°C (82-90°F). Light, breathable fabrics are recommended to stay comfortable throughout the conference.

Where can I exchange currency near the hotel? The Royal Sheraton Hotel & Towers will be able to assist you and have an ATM on property. There is also an ATM around the corner from the hotel in the River City building in the 7-eleven.

If you have additional questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the ANDE Events team. As we receive more inquiries, we will periodically update the FAQs.
