Hand in Hand International supports microentrepreneurs in East Africa to transition into thriving small and growing businesses (SGBs). Our acceleration programme focuses on women entrepreneurs who have completed our foundational enterprise development training and are ready to scale. These business owners typically run established microenterprises but remain vulnerable to financial shocks that could push them back below the poverty line. Through our acceleration model, we provide tailored business coaching, sector-specific training, exposure visits, access to larger credit facilities, and linkages to wider markets—driving enterprise growth, profitability, and resilience. By strengthening business practices and improving access to finance and markets, we enable entrepreneurs to increase their profits and revenues sustainably. Participants starting with daily incomes of $7 or less achieve business profits exceeding $15 (PPP) within 24 months. Over the next five years, we aim to reach 50,000 entrepreneurs, scaling a proven model that fills a critical gap for microentrepreneurs often overlooked by other acceleration initiatives.
