Through the working group, members will play a pivotal role in advancing the efforts of Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs) to address climate and environmental challenges across the African region.
The Africa Climate & Environment Working Group is a collaborative initiative focused on driving impactful climate action across the continent by supporting Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs).
The group aims to highlight evidence-based needs within the sector, raising awareness of underserved areas and showcasing the positive environmental impact of SGBs. It works to build the capacity of key stakeholders through targeted training programs that equip them with the tools needed to effectively support climate-focused SGBs. Additionally, the group seeks to support and scale Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs) that empower SGBs helping communities adapt to and build resilience against climate change. A key part of the group’s mission is to facilitate South-South learning, sharing successful approaches and innovations within the SGB ecosystem to strengthen climate action across similar contexts.
