Sarah joined ANDE in June 2020 as the Senior Finance Manager. She oversees the finances of eight international chapters and provides overall financial management at ANDE’s headquarter in DC. Throughout her career, Sarah has been providing accounting and financial expertise to the NGO sector, with extensive experience managing grants’ funding, sub-awards, and compliance and monitoring. Before joining ANDE, she served as the Senior Financial Grants Accounting Officer at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), where she led the grants accounting and financial reporting for a $300+ million yearly budget and the disbursements of federal funds to more than 1500 sub-grantees around the world. Prior to that, she worked at The International Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) as a Grants Accountant and finance point of contact for several international field offices; and as the Senior Accountant at The United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI). Throughout her 5 years at USCRI, she has gained experience in corporate accounting, managing federal funds, compliance, training field office bookkeepers, and supervising accounts payable and payroll. Sarah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Genetics from the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB) and a professional certificate in accounting. She speaks French and Arabic.
