On the 20th of April 2022, NITI Aayog announced the Draft Battery Swapping Policy in order to catalyze the large-scale adoption of EVs by improving efficient and effective use of resources for the delivery of customer centric services. The policy aims to support adoption of battery swapping technology implemented via Battery as a Service (BaaS) business models. The policy further aims to address key technical, regulatory, institutional, and financing related challenges that will help develop battery swapping ecosystems to potentially unlock large-scale adoption of battery swapping in India.

NITI Aayog has requested comments from relevant stakeholders on the draft policy by 5th June 2022.

In this context, ANDE India is organizing a roundtable discussion, in partnership with the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) to:
1. Discuss potential technical, financial, systemic and other challenges which could be faced during implementation.
2. Gather insights on how these challenges can be addressed effectively in the policy.
