ANDE Southern Africa in partnership with UVU Africa & the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) will host the Youth Entrepreneurship Connection Session on the 22nd of August in Khayelitsha, Cape Town.

This initiative is supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). GIZ supports the Presidency in implementing the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (PYEI), a comprehensive effort of the South African Government to transition young people from learning to earning at scale.

Each session aims to create a space where young, local entrepreneurs can connect with relevant business development services providers, be introduced to entrepreneur support organisations, and learn about the available services and support to help grow their businesses.

Key objectives of the sessions include:

  • Improving young township entrepreneurs’ access to information on available business development services and services providers.
  • Sharing knowledge and increasing the harmonization of information available across multiple existing platforms and tools related to the PYEI.
  • Facilitating connections between business development services suppliers (such as accelerators and incubators) and demand (entrepreneurs and businesses) and increasing coordination among stakeholders related to the PYEI.
