LEAD, an action-oriented research centre of IFMR Society (a not-for-profit society registered under the Societies Act), leverages the power of research, innovation and co-creation to solve complex and pressing challenges in development. LEAD has strategic oversight and brand support from Krea University (sponsored by IFMR Society) to enable synergies between academia and the research centre. LEAD has extensive institutional experience in cultivating strategic research partnerships, creating knowledge platforms, and managing complex programs in its areas of expertise - financial inclusion, MSME & entrepreneurship development, governance, and health systems. Since 2005, the centre has been at the forefront of development research and programming in India, and has managed a portfolio of over 200 projects in collaboration with over 300 academics, governments, NGOs and private sector organizations from across the globe. Research on SGB and Entrepreneurship has been a key focus for LEAD from its inception. Our key focus are is on rural enterprises, types of enterprises include Individual entrepreneurship, Group entrepreneurship, Cluster formation and Co-operatives. Our guiding research questions in SGB and Entrepreneurship are -How can financial products and systems bring the most value, in an affordable, responsive, fair, sustainable, and reliable way to low income households? -How do we efficiently identify entrepreneurs ? -How do we ensure dynamic growth of enterprises? -How does this translate in the community?
