Traveling to Phuket, Thailand
The most convenient way to reach our conference is by securing your flight from Bangkok to Phuket International Airport. For comprehensive information on entry requirements and passenger guidance, we recommend visiting the official websites of Suvarnabhumi Airport and Donmueang International Airport | DMK. For your stay, we suggest packing light, summer-appropriate clothing to stay comfortable. It’s advisable to include an umbrella in your essentials, just in case.
Public transportation
Phuket Island provides three primary modes of public transportation: buses, tuk-tuks, and motorbike taxis. The predominant bus type is known locally as the “Songtaew.”
Getting around Phuket is convenient with taxis and tuk-tuks as these private options offer direct transport to your destination on the island. Though it is pricier than buses and motorbike taxis.
Tuk-tuks
Tuk-tuks in Phuket are modified mini trucks, commonly found in vibrant red or yellow unlike the one in Bangkok. While they’re a popular choice, they tend to be more expensive, with short trips costing up to 100 baht.
Grab
Another convenient way to navigate Phuket is through Grab. This user-friendly service provides transparency by allowing users to view the journey price before booking, track their route in real-time, share the journey details, and communicate pick-up locations with the driver.
Grab operates extensively across tourist areas on the island, linking passengers to key destinations like the airport, Old Town, Patong Beach and more.
