Dream Factory Foundation exists to ignite, inspire and realize the dreams of youth for the sustainable development of Africa. We support in-school and out-of-school youth in low-income communities through a multi-stakeholder approach that includes government, private sector and local communities for systems change; beneficiaries are connected to caring mentors, future-focused educational programmes that increase their knowledge of and access to tertiary, entrepreneurial and employment opportunities. Our Emergent Academy in particular, supports women-led SMMES to increase their use of e-commerce, specifically chatbot powered sales channels over Whatsapp (i.e, social commerce); and aims to mitigate losses and closures of business due to curfews, lockdowns and restrictions in communities. The bigger goal is to find effective and inclusive ways in which collaborations and sales can be made across national borders. Our work therefore promotes SDG 1 (no poverty), SDG 4 (quality education), SDG 4 (Gender equality) and SDG 8 (decent work and economic opportunities).
