Foreign visitors not being required to show ATK (Antigen Test Kit) or RT-PCR test results, but still being advised to exercise normal precautions for COVID-19 prevention.

Thailand does recommend COVID insurance for visitors from all countries when visiting Thailand.

Recommended Documents for Travel to Thailand 

  • Passport with at least six-month validity
  • Visa or visa exemption qualification
  • Buy Travel Insurance
  • Boarding pass to be presented at Passport Control
  • Hotel booking confirmation if asked by Immigration Officer

Do You Need a Visa to Enter Thailand?

Visitors from countries under the Visa Exemption List are not required to obtain a Thai visa in order to travel to Thailand for tourism purposes. The Thai Immigration Bureau will allow foreigners to stay in Thailand for 30 days. Tourists will be able to apply for a 30-day visa extension at any local immigration office in Thailand.

ANDE – South Asia Participant

Entry to Thailand for passport holder of the following countries: 

  • Bangladesh – Visa required. More information at Royal Thai Embassy, Dhaka. Tourist visa takes 7 working days to process from the day the application is submitted. Applicants are advised to submit their application form and relevant documents at least two weeks before their planned date for the trip.
  • Bhutan – Visa on Arrival (Period of stay: 15 days) 
  • India – Visa on Arrival (Period of stay: 15 days)
  • Maldives – Visa Exemption Scheme (Period of stay: 30 days)
  • Nepal – Visa required. More information at Royal Thai Embassy, Kathmandu. It is recommended that applicants plan their trip in advance and should submit a Visa application at least a month prior to the departure date (but not more than 3 months before departure) to avoid unnecessary inconvenience. Generally, the Embassy requires minimum 

3 – 5 working days to process the visa after receiving all required documents. However, this is not a guarantee.

  • Pakistan – Visa required. More information at Royal Thai Embassy, Islamabad. Tourist visa takes 5 working days to process from the day the application is submitted. However, this is not a guarantee, therefore applicants are advised to submit their application form before their planned date for the trip.
  • Sri Lanka – Visa required. More information at Royal Thai Embassy, Colombo. Tourist visa takes more than 5 working days to process from the day the application is submitted. Applicants are advised to submit their application form and relevant documents at least two weeks before their planned date for the trip.

Entry to Thailand for passport holder of the following countries: 

  • Australia – No visa requirement. (Visa Exemption for a period stay: 30 days) 
  • Cambodia – No visa requirement. (Bilateral Agreement for a period stay: 45 days)
  • China – Visa on Arrival (Period of stay: 15 days) 
  • Hong Kong – No visa requirement. (Visa Exemption for a period stay: 30 days)
  • Indonesia – No visa requirement. (Visa Exemption for a period stay: 30 days)
  • Malaysia – No visa requirement. (Visa Exemption for a period stay: 30 days) 
  • Myanmar – No visa requirement, International Airports only. (Bilateral Agreement for a period stay: 14 days) 
  • Philippines – No visa requirement. (Visa Exemption for a period stay: 30 days)
  • Singapore – No visa requirement. (Visa Exemption for a period stay: 30 days)
  • South Korea – No visa requirement. (Visa Exemption for a period stay: 30 days)
  • Taiwan – No visa requirement from the 10 Nov 23 –10 May 24. (Visa Exemption for a period stay: 30 days)
  • Vietnam – No visa requirement. (Visa Exemption for a period stay: 30 days)
