They are ANDE member organizations that know the sector at the national level and understand local opportunities and challenges. Our Country Champions possess the experience and expertise to advise ANDE’s programming in the country to tackle the most pressing issues.
A Country Champion serves as a local ambassador and leader for the network in their respective country. They act as the primary liaison between the ANDE’s central leadership and its local members, promoting ANDE’s mission, strengthening its presence, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
Country Champions should be Engaged ANDE member organizations who are champions of ANDE’s work with a deep understanding of the local ecosystem and cultural context.
They are responsible for running country-specific activities, as outlined in the Responsibilities section of this document, and act as proxies for the country representatives of ANDE.
- 1. A discount on ANDE membership of USD 750 per year.
- 2. Financial support of USD 1000 to cover designated responsibilities per year.
How to apply
We encourage interested ANDE members to apply by submitting a one-page statement describing their interest and experience for the role. Please review the guidelines document in detail for an understanding of the expectations of our steering committee. The statement should indicate:
- how you are best placed to fulfill the responsibilities detailed in the guidelines document
- your designated lead contact and how they are best qualified to deliver on the country champion responsibilities.
- what two or three SGB thematic areas you consider needing the most attention in your country.
Selection Process
Selection will be competitive, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis and final decisions made by ANDE’s regional advisory committee. Results will typically be announced within two months of the application announcement.
Incoming country champions will, typically, be inducted by early January of each selection year, when they will begin a two-year term. In its pilot year (2025), term start dates will be announced region by region, aligned with the start of the application process.
We are currently seeking applications for ANDE Country Champions in multiple regions:
Bangladesh, Cambodia, and Indonesia.
