The need for a thriving and more resilient Small and Growing Businesses (SGBs) sector in developing economies has never been more urgent than in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has adversely affected sources of livelihood. Despite the broad consensus on the potential of SGBs to create jobs and stimulate economic growth, much is still to be done on creating a conducive environment not only for the SGBs themselves to thrive but also for other actors in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including donors, investors, financial institutions and business support intermediaries to provide effective support.

In light of this, the ANDE West Africa, South Africa and East Africa Chapters, with support from Argidius Foundation, cordially invite you to a dialogue on advocacy approaches for the SGB sector in Africa. The meeting aims to highlight the role of advocacy in making a case for SGBs and building a consensus on the most pertinent advocacy issues and priorities that are critical to creating an enabling environment for SGBs to thrive. The convening brings together diverse ANDE members, experts, business associations, and practitioners to share experiences on effective advocacy approaches and strategies to facilitate and promote the development of resilient ecosystems for SGBs to thrive.
