About the green entrepreneurship ecosystem snapshot

The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE), with support from the IKEA Foundation, is mapping the green entrepreneurial ecosystem of Kenya, aimed at enhancing the understanding of the green entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kenya by identifying gaps and opportunities for the small and growing business (SGB) sector. This mapping will include entrepreneur ecosystem actors with specific programming/support for “green” enterprises (i.e. entrepreneurs who address climate change and/or positive environmental value either through the process through which they deliver products/services or by providing products or services in a green sector).

About the validation Workshop

The validation workshop is aimed at contributing to the ecosystem mapping, by providing an opportunity for checking the quality of the data received and build a momentum to continue circulating the survey. The workshop targets ecosystem actors in the green entrepreneurship ecosystem in Kenya, and offers an opportunity for the actors to network and build strategic coalitions that would promote green entrepreneurship.

Agenda for the workshop

The workshop will be structured around four stages that allow for interaction and objective sharing of information. The first stage will be to introduce the ecosystem snapshot, and give an opportunity for participants to interact with the survey tool. The second stage will involve a presentation of high-level insights from the survey so far, giving way to the third stage of the workshop where the participants will have an opportunity to interrogate the findings through facilitated group sessions. The fourth stage will entail participant driven discussions in prioritizing the gaps and opportunities for green entrepreneurship in the small and growing business (SGB) sector.
