Africa’s mid-cap companies are a critical engine of economic growth, yet many face persistent challenges in accessing high-quality, affordable business advisory services. The high perceived cost and risk associated with these services can slow deal flow and limit investment opportunities. Transaction advisory services are a critical subset of business advisory services; because of their focus on access to finance, their costs can be recoverable upon completion of a transaction.

To address this challenge, Pangea Africa is designing a Risk-Share Facility aimed at demonstrating a commercially sustainable financing solution for transaction advisory services. The proposed model leverages a performance-based, revolving fund mechanism to reduce upfront costs for businesses while aligning incentives across advisors, investors, companies, and development partners.

During this session, participants will explore the market barriers affecting transaction advisory services, the design of the Risk-Share Facility, the proposed Advisor Hub model, and how blended finance approaches can contribute to stronger pipelines of investment-ready businesses.
