Happy Global Entrepreneurship Week!
On 13 – 19 November 2023, Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrates and empowers entrepreneurs in every country and community around the world – especially those individuals who face structural barriers. On the 16th & 17th November, ANDE Southern Africa, together with members, Technoserve and Zevoli Growth Partners, will be hosting a convening themed “Breaking Barriers for SMMEs”, dedicated to advancing & strengthening the township and youth entrepreneurship ecosystems in South Africa.
ANDE will host a dialogue with different ecosystem actors currently engaged or actively working within these ecosystems to share best practices on strengthening South Africa’s youth entrepreneurship ecosystem, particularly in townships. Supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in conjunction with the Office of the Presidency Support to the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention (S2PYEI), ANDE recognizes the need to engage a wider spectrum of ecosystem stakeholders to inform the design of the Local Ecosystem Enablement Fund that is being established under the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention, with the objective of strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem, specifically in economically marginalised areas and exploring how entrepreneurship can be a solution for unemployment.
