Empowering farmers and fostering community prosperity through innovative food supply chain solutions
Join us as we explore Cam Agro-Food’s inspiring journey in Cambodia. Founded by Soukhim Im, a food scientist with three master’s degrees in sustainable management of food quality, Cam Agro-Food addresses challenges in the food system, particularly the inconsistency in price, quality, and quantity of seasonal products.
They work with The Sasakawa Peace Foundation, ANDE member based in Japan with global reach.
Soukhim noticed that while farmers work hard, they remain one of the most vulnerable groups. To bridge this gap, she established Cam Agro-Food in 2023 to collaborate with both farmers and food companies, improving the quality of dry spices and semi-products.
Key milestones achieved by Cam Agro-Food include providing training and income opportunities for farmers, especially women, allowing them to earn additional income from home. This initiative has significantly contributed to the social and economic development of their community.
Through dedicated training, mentoring, and learning from other founders and investors, Soukhim has grown both personally and professionally. She has been able to make better business decisions and create effective strategic plans for Cam Agro-Food.
Looking ahead, Cam Agro-Food aims to expand its product line to include marine products such as anchovies, and fruits like mango and banana, continuing their mission to innovate the food supply chain in Cambodia.
