Climate Tech in Thailand: Opportunities for Innovation and Growth
The climate tech sector in Thailand is booming. New Energy Nexus is launching programs to support entrepreneurs and drive innovation in sustainable materials and energy efficiency. Collaboration is vital to accelerating the adoption of decarbonization solutions.
State of the Sector and Opportunity of C&E Learning Lab partners with large corporations
There is increasing interest in the sector. New Energy Nexus works with multilateral institutions, government organizations, and entrepreneurs in different regions worldwide. All our programs are focused on accelerating the adoption of decarbonization solutions benefiting local communities, creating green jobs, and increasing access to renewable solutions among youth, rural communities other stakeholders.
The climate tech sector in Thailand is rapidly evolving, marked by increasing interest and investment in sustainable solutions from carbon tracking platforms to energy solutions. However, there remains a significant need for enhanced support systems that can accelerate innovation and growth from an early stage. The C&E Learning Lab presents a unique opportunity for lab-scale research to go to market by addressing this gap by providing a structured environment for entrepreneurs to access critical resources, funding, mentorship, and industry connections early on. This initiative will not only bolster the ecosystem but also catalyze impactful advancements in climate technology in energy, transport, and new materials.
Ongoing Programs and Collaboration Opportunities At New Energy Nexus Thailand
We are excited to introduce our new initiatives: the Lab-to-Market Program and the Green Building Program. The Lab-to-Market Program is designed to incubate and scale innovative material startups, guiding them from prototype development to commercial-scale application in a real-world environment and deployment partner. This program will provide critical support in areas such as market analysis, go-to-market analysis, funding, IP registration, and manufacturing partnerships. Additionally, our Green Building Program focuses on taking proof-of-concept technologies and testing them in real-world environments. This initiative will facilitate the integration of sustainable materials and energy efficiency technologies such as HVAC, and building management technology into actual building projects, demonstrating their viability and performance under practical conditions.
We encourage partners, investors, and technology providers to collaborate with us in these programs to drive meaningful advancements in sustainable infrastructure and material science. Additionally, for later-stage startups who want to launch in Thailand. We have our flagship initiatives such as the Decarbonisation Thailand Symposium and startup support have successfully supported 27 startups to meet over 600+ scaling partners in Thailand to help accelerate GHG reduction in industries. We invite collaborators, investors, and mentors to join us in amplifying these efforts and driving collective impact within the ecosystem. Together, we can build a robust network that fosters innovation and scales sustainable solutions.
Advice for aspiring entrepreneurs for those aspiring to create environmentally conscious businesses
My advice is to focus on understanding the core problem your technology addresses and how it provides a tangible benefit to the environment. Emphasize scalability with a small group of partners and practicality in your solutions, and actively seek feedback to scale the use cases with partners in similar industries. Building a strong network and staying adaptable in response to market and technological changes are also crucial for long-term success.
