Brazilian Climate Innovation Takes the Global Stage

At COP30, Brazilian startups and ecosystem partners showcased the country’s growing leadership in climate innovation, offering practical models for investment, collaboration, and Global South climate solutions.

Brazil’s Innovation Pipeline Gains Global Visibility

Three winning startups from the Climate Innovation Hub, Apoena Bioindustrial, ForestiFi, and Genera Bio—were presented to international stakeholders during COP30, raising their visibility among investors, support programs, and potential partners. The exposure translated into new business connections, interest from international capital, and renewed momentum behind the Amazonian bioeconomy.

Influencing Climate Finance Through Practical Insights

Impact Hub São Paulo contributed to panels on capital for transition, bioeconomy, and international cooperation, emphasizing the need for financially viable mechanisms for early-stage startups. The discussions highlighted blended finance, territorial inclusion, and community-driven innovation as essential elements of a climate finance architecture that reflects Brazil’s realities. A New Strategic Tool for Climate-Tech Investors

COP30 also marked the launch of Transforming Capital into Climate Impact: A Strategic Guide for Those Investing in Climate Techs. The blueprint brings together global and Brazilian expertise to help investors identify and prioritize climate technologies with high socio-environmental impact. For decision-makers, investors, and ANDE members, the guide offers a practical tool for advancing capital deployment into impactful climate solutions.

Strengthening Collaboration Across the Ecosystem

Joint action with GIZ, IKI, PoMuC, MDIC, Climate Ventures, ANDE, and other partners demonstrated the power of inter-institutional collaboration. This coordinated effort strengthened alignment among government actors, intermediary organizations, innovation hubs, and emerging climate businesses—laying the groundwork for more strategic, ecosystem-wide engagement.

Elevating the Global South’s Climate Leadership

Brazil’s presence at COP30 helped reinforce a broader narrative: the Global South is not only participating in climate innovation—it is leading it. Territorial diversity, grassroots entrepreneurship, and regenerative business models took center stage, expanding international recognition of solutions emerging from Amazonian and other regional ecosystems.

In sum, Impact Hub São Paulo’s contributions at COP30 showcased the strength and maturity of Brazil’s impact ecosystem. The progress made—across innovation, investment, collaboration, and narrative-building—directly supports ANDE Brasil’s priorities and establishes a strong foundation for continued momentum in 2025. Together with partners across the ANDE network, we remain committed to transforming territorial solutions into systemic climate impact and advancing a new climate economy rooted in local ingenuity.

COP30 in Brazil marked an important shift in the global climate calendar. For the first time in many years, the summit unfolded in a country with a vibrant and sophisticated small and growing business (SGB) ecosystem—one actively developing and scaling climate solutions. This setting reshaped participation and dialogue, bringing entrepreneurs, ecosystem builders, and policymakers into closer, more practical conversations about the future of climate action.

ANDE attended COP30 with a clear purpose: to ensure that SGBs were meaningfully represented in discussions on climate finance, supply chains, and climate policy. Across panels, side events, and informal gatherings, ANDE emphasized a consistent message: small and growing businesses—local problem-solvers and quiet climate innovators—must be fully accounted for in climate frameworks. Delegations, entrepreneurs, researchers, and policy leaders converged in hotel lobbies and co-working spaces, each carrying a piece of the climate puzzle.
