About the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs
ANDE is a global network of organizations that propel entrepreneurship in developing economies

ANDE members provide critical financial, educational, and business support services to small and growing businesses (SGBs) based on the conviction that SGBs will create jobs, stimulate long-term economic growth, and produce environmental and social benefits. Ultimately, we believe that SGBs can help lift countries out of poverty.

ANDE’s Strategy

Our strategy is built on two core principles designed to maximize our impact and drive meaningful change in the entrepreneurial sector:

1. Building member capacity to create impact.
2. Strengthening entrepreneurial ecosystems.

First principle: Building member capacity to create impact

We empower our members to better support small and growing businesses (SGBs) through:

Rigorous impact measurement

Equipping members through training, one on one support, and peer learning forums with the tools and methodologies to measure and showcase their impact, enabling them to improve their performance and demonstrate value to donors and partners.

Community of best practices

Facilitating a network of world-class organizations to exchange knowledge, implement best practices, and collaborate within a global community of peers.

Global visibility and advocacy

Providing platforms for members to share their successes, contribute to research, and amplify the importance of SGBs in shaping sustainable development.

Facilitated fundraising collaborations

Connecting members with aligned funders and partners to explore funding opportunities, build strategic alliances, and drive resources toward impactful projects.

Second principle
Strengthening Entrepreneurial Ecosystems

We advocate for the vital role of entrepreneurial ecosystems in fostering localized, sustainable economic growth. Our focus is on building resilient, inclusive ecosystems that support diverse entrepreneurs. This includes:

Enhanced connectivity & strategic alignment: Increasing connections, mapping programs, and encouraging strategic alignment across ecosystems to reduce duplication, address service gaps, and help donors maximize their impact.

Ecosystem research & practitioner community: Researching effective interventions, identifying best practices, and convening a community of practitioners to improve ecosystem support and mobilize greater resources together.

Why Membership Matters
ANDE’s membership
is key to our strategy

We offer value to your team through:

  • Access to global peers and convenings: Members gain facilitated access for their whole team to a diverse network of complementary actors and benefit from regular convenings to share insights, learn, and foster collaboration.
  • Programmatic opportunities: Through ANDE’s focused programs, members have the chance to delve into thematic areas such as gender equality, climate action, decent work, and economic inclusion, advancing shared goals and driving innovation.
  • Targeted communication channels: Amplify your stories across global platforms.
