Our primary focus is on rural and underprivileged communities where reliable, affordable, andclean energy plays a unique role in accelerating social, environmental and economicdevelopment. CLEAN has contributed to the development and influencing policies for the DREsector (Access to Policy), bridged access to finance for its enterprises (Access to Finance),facilitated technology innovations (Access to Technology), assisted its members in accessingmarkets (Access to Markets), and built the capacity of enterprises through training/workshops(Skils & Training). CLEAN was set up as a program in 2014, by its charter members which include The Energy andResources Institute (TERI), GIZ India, SELCO Foundation, Shakti Sustainable EnergyFoundation, WWF India, UN Foundation, Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW),Ashden India Renewable Energy Collective, The Climate Group (TCG), Indian Renewable EnergyFederation (IREF) and The Nand and Jeet Khemka Foundation.
