This position is part of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, Office of Development Credit. As a Health Policy Specialist you will be responsible for business development across all product lines for Global Health projects, establishing and maintaining business relationships with U.S. and foreign corporations, commercial banks, development finance institutions, and support interagency policy-related work that impacts operations.
Develops and recommends DFC policies and procedures to support idea generation activities and create high impact around global health platforms.
Supports business lines by designing and implementing health financing aspects of projects, evaluating and providing health financing feedback to on proposals for Global Health and Prosperity Initiative (HAPI), including early-stage project development opportunities; and pre-screening and project development activities including conversion into investments.
Coordinates health initiatives to promote the use of DFC programs and services among the U.S. business community and appropriate foreign entities.
Integrates Global Health business development and marketing objectives with corporate communications to reach U.S. and foreign business communities identified as target markets.
Discusses DFC programs and products with representatives of U.S. and foreign firms with technical questions on programs.
Maintains accurate data concerning health transaction pipeline in DFC technology systems.
Responds to inquiries from and meetings with stakeholders, including DFC Board members and Congressional Delegations.
Provides information and training on DFC financing programs to U.S. businesses, foreign government officials, and personnel of the U.S. Embassy and USAID missions abroad.

You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that includes:
- Analyzing policy in sustainable financing related to global health platforms in international developing markets;
- identifying and building relationships with international business associations and/or impact investing groups; and
- managing and maintaining large data sets for pipeline transactions or finance portfolios or ad hoc reporting.
Note: Education is not substitutional at this grade level.
