The Country Representative – Guatemala represents Pro Mujer at the local level and coordinates with the local teams to align and secure proper operations and execution of different programs. Key responsibilities include public relations, proposal coordination and project execution, relationship management and supporting the work of the local teams.



Essential Functions

  • Establish strategic direction from a geographic perspective while coordinating with multiple local actors to ensure that all parties are aligned.
  • Coordinate and act as a liaison, ensuring the appropriate interaction between the different areas (health, finance, education, marketing and communication, accounting, risk and auditing, human resources, operations, and technology, among others) at the local level.
  • Ensures with all necessary areas the development and coordination of the local Annual Operational Plan (POA) in line with the priorities established by the organization at the international level.
  • Responsible for identifying, addressing, and cultivating relationships with local potential partners and funding sources from different sectors (business, academia, social, government, private).
  • Responsible for representing Pro Mujer locally ensuring the correct positioning and promoting Pro Mujer as a thought leader.
  • Legal representative of Pro Mujer’s local entities and responsible for the administrative functions of Pro Mujer’s nonprofit entity in Guatemala, which involves, but is not limited to, effective management of the non-for-profit entity, the signing of all types of agreements (governmental, third-party services, alliance agreements, etc.), execution of payments and any activity needed for the adequate running of daily operations. In addition, Country Representative will represent Pro Mujer as a board member or a similar position of local or foreign subsidiaries or affiliates of Pro Mujer, according to local legal requirements.
  • Develops and oversees Pro Mujer local public relations strategy to obtain more and better local recognition.
  • Prepare periodic status reports needed for grants and local regulators as necessary.
  • Responsible for defining a budget for the area and giving compliance and control to it during the year.
  • Responsible for coordinating administrative decisions according to needs.
  • Perform other projects and related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor degree and Master´s degree (preferred) in business administration, finance, or related area.
  • English and Spanish working ability required.
  • 5+ years of work experience at the management level.
  • Knowledge and experience designing programs focused on technology for development, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, digital literacy, health or international development.
  • Superior verbal, written and interpersonal skills that appeal successfully to a variety of constituencies.
