Candidate Profile 

Village Capital is looking for a results-driven Partnerships Associate to join our Partnerships team to play a critical role in helping us develop and secure new partnerships with corporations, foundations, and other donor communities to support our mission.

Reporting to the Vice President, Partnerships, the Partnerships Associate will be responsible for managing the systems and processes for capturing data essential to building, managing and deepening our relationships with current and potential funders.  Here’s what we’re looking for:

Role Overview
The Partnerships Associate will be a key member of the Partnerships team and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Research: You will research, identify and track information related to potential and current funding partners, including issue areas of interest, funding amounts, and former grantees.
  • Maintenance and Management of Partnerships Databases: You will be responsible for formalizing, maintaining and managing existing partner and prospect databases in Salesforce with a high level of data integrity, You will also generate reports for the Village Capital leadership for trend analysis, pipeline and other points as needed.
  • Development of Fundraising Materials and Writing Proposals: You will support the organization’s efforts in developing and monitoring of funding partnerships, including but not limited to writing expressions of interest, concept notes, and proposals. This includes providing administrative support to fundraising leads related to the development and prospect cultivation. You will contribute to proposal budgets and narratives and program implementation memos post-award.
  • Reporting: Compile information, prepare presentations, and write reports using internal and self-identified sources to be shared with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategy Development and Execution Support: Participate, along with key fundraising personnel, in the development and execution of strategies and structures to increase the sustainability and total amount of funding.
  • Team Support: You will collaborate with teams across the organization to gather and manage information relevant to fundraising, including engaging potential funders. You will also support the Global Ventures (Programs), Communications, Finance and Partnerships teams in managing multiple programs, grants and other activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, international development, or communications
  • 2+ years of nonprofit fundraising and/or community management experience
  • Ability to manage cross-functional projects and multitask
  • At least 1-year of experience using, customizing or managing a Salesforce CRM
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work with funders and colleagues across time zones for short-term deadlines
  • Experience preparing presentations and progress reports, preferably including basic design skills
  • Authorization to work in the US (Washington, DC metro area preferred)
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Additional language skills, especially Spanish or French are welcome but not required.
